Water Environment Association of Texas will host a Water Sector Cyber Security Symposium in Dallas on August 15. The free, half-day event is designed for water and wastewater utility personnel, control system and security professionals, state, local and federal government emergency managers, industry stakeholders and academia.
The symposium is intended to raise awareness about cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, impacts and mitigation. Attendees will also hear about forthcoming federal cybersecurity policies and industry initiatives to improve water and wastewater system cybersecurity.
Speakers will include representatives from WaterISAC, Trinity River Authority of Texas, North Texas Municipal Water District, U.S. Secret Service North Texas Electronic Crimes Task Force (N-TEC), Southern Methodist University HACNet, AWWA and cyber security experts. The event is sponsored by CP&Y, Delta Risk and Signature Automation.
Online registration is available for the symposium, which will be held on the campus of Southern Methodist University.
