In November 2013, an updated Water Resources Sector Technical Input document to the National Climate Assessment (NCA) was posted online. The technical input is a readable, succinct synthesis of the latest science and information related to the effects of climate change on water resources. The report documents observed data and projected changes for surface water, ground water and water quality. It also includes sections describing the implications of climate change on the management of water infrastructure, water supply, and water and wastewater treatment. The document also identifies research needs and contains 11 pages of references.

The document is one of more than 20 technical input documents written to support development of the NCA. The draft NCA was released for comment in January 2013 and will be finalized later this year.
