Key policy leaders from the White House and the Department of Homeland Security have confirmed their participation in AMWA’s 2013 Water Policy Conference, to be held March 17-20 in Washington, D.C.

Kathy Jacobs, Assistant Director for Climate Assessment and Adaptation at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and Director of the National Climate Assessment (NCA), confirmed she will attend to discuss the recent release of the draft NCA.  With renewed interest in climate change from the Obama Administration, the NCA is poised to play an important role in guiding federal policy, and conference attendees will get a first-hand account of its potential influence.

In addition, Caitlin Durkovich, Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has confirmed that she will join the program to discuss the priorities and programs of the Office of Infrastructure Protection that affect water and wastewater utilities.

February 25 is the final day to make hotel reservations for the conference at the preferred participant rate at the Washington Court Hotel on Capitol Hill. The hotel is unable to extend the deadline, so be sure to make your reservation right away. Visit the conference webpage for addition information on the meeting and hotel reservations, as well as program updates.
