The program for AMWA’s 2014 Water Policy Conference has expanded to include speakers from the Department of the Interior (DOI), EPA’s Office of Water (OW) and Moody’s Investors Service, all adding new insights on water policy development in the coming year:

  • Michael L. Connor, Commissioner, Bureau of Reclamation, Department of the Interior, will address DOI’s policies and initiatives concerning water supply in the west and southwest, its work on climate change research and adaptation, the most recent efforts of the Bureau of Reclamation’s WaterSmart program and the water-energy nexus.

  • Eric Hoffmann, Senior Vice President, Moody's Investors Service, will speak about what Moody’s credit ratings agency looks for when rating utilities, how climate is (or isn't yet) impacting their assessments, and what they are thinking about for the future.

  • Nancy Stoner, Acting Assistant Administrator, EPA Office of Water, will provide insights regarding the OW’s 2014 priorities and its recent efforts encouraging integrated planning and innovation, particularly long-term infrastructure investments and meeting Safe Drinking Water Act obligations. She will also discuss how climate change issues are taken into consideration when EPA crafts regulatory policies and implements other priorities.

AMWA’s 2014 Water Policy Conference will be held April 6-9 at The Liaison Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The full program and online registration are found at www.amwa.net.
