AMWA will honor 14 public drinking water systems with its top utility management awards today in ceremonies at the 2012 Annual Meeting. Ten systems will receive Platinum Awards for Utility Excellence and four systems will be presented Gold Awards for Exceptional Utility Performance. The awards recognize outstanding achievement in implementing the nationally recognized Attributes of Effective Utility Management.

Winners of the 2012 AMWA Platinum Awards for Utility Excellence were Water Works Board of the City of Birmingham, Central Arkansas Water, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department, Fairfax Water, JEA, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department, Prince William County Service Authority, Saint Paul Regional Water Services and City of San Diego Public Utilities Department.
AMWA’s 2012 Gold Awards for Exceptional Utility Performance will be presented to Denver Water, Grand Strand Water & Sewer Authority, Macon Water Authority and Suffolk County Water Authority.
