“AMWA appreciates congressional appropriators ensuring stable funding for the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund in the 2024 Interior-EPA appropriations bill, even as overall EPA funding was cut by more than 9%,” said AMWA CEO Tom Dobbins. “And while we are disappointed that other critical water infrastructure funding programs — like WIFIA, Reducing Lead in Drinking Water Grants, and the Midsize and Large Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Program — will have their funding reduced this year, we thank appropriators for recognizing their importance and providing funds to keep these important programs operational. Looking ahead, AMWA will continue to advocate for full funding for each of these critical water infrastructure programs in FY25 and beyond. These programs make a difference in people's lives and even health."
