AMWA and AWWA commissioned this report, completed by Corona Environmental Consulting and published in the May-June 2026 issue of AWWA Water Science, to examine the relationship by public water system residual disinfectant levels and Legionella occurrence observed in tap water samples from selected federal office buildings. The study found no significant relationship. The study is available to the public free of charge through an Open Access license.
