On July 20, AMWA submitted comments to EPA on its proposal to extend the compliance deadline for the PFOA and PFOS maximum contaminant levels. AMWA's letter expressed support for the extension framework under Section 1416 of the Safe Drinking Water Act and encouraged EPA to develop methods to encourage primacy agencies to uphold the two-year compliance extension for water systems that opt into the extension.
