This week, the association highlights Houston Water, represented by Director and AMWA Vice President Yvonne Forrest. Today, Houston Water serves approximately 2.2 million customers daily, with pipelines and physical facilities geographically located throughout a four-county service area of over 600 square miles.
In addition, Houston Water consists of approximately 1,500 drinking water and wastewater professionals, including engineers, scientists, and facility operations and maintenance personnel. The utility currently maintains a “superior” rating, the highest rating for water quality issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Furthermore, the utility earned AMWA’s Gold and Platinum awards, showcasing its exemplary performance.
