Honoring Utility Achievements and Individual Contributions
For more than two decades AMWA has provided utility recognition programs that honor extraordinary management and stellar workforce performance. A progressive series of awards was developed over the years: the Gold Award for Exceptional Utility Performance, the Platinum Award for Utility Excellence, and the Sustainable Water Utility Management Award.
2022 Awards Program
AMWA opened its annual awards program in February 2022 and invited all eligible AMWA member utilities to apply for one of three utility management awards. The 2022 award submission period closed on June 24, 2022.
Distinguished panels of peer judges will evaluate award applicants in summer 2022, and the awards will be presented at AMWA's 2022 Executive Management Conference, October 30 - November 2, in Savannah, Georgia. In addition, award winners receive local, national, water industry, and public utility media attention. Information on past winners and examples of award-winning applications can be found below.
AMWA also honors individual accomplishments in the drinking water field through its President’s Award and Donald R. Boyd Award. Recipients of these awards are determined by the association’s Nominations Committee, and the awards are presented at the fall Executive Management Conference. Nominations are solicited in the summer by a bulletin from AMWA’s national office.
