AMWA endorsed H.R. 1181, legislation from Rep. John Garamendi (D-Calif.) that would extend the maximum term for NPDES permits issues to states and municipalities from five to ten years, to allow water reuse and recycling project planning and construction to advance further before the permits must be renewed.
